SO₂ GENERATING SHEET

LONGEVITY:

UVASYS has longevity of use and protection (up to six months if the correct usage procedures are followed) - unsurpassed and unattainable by other similar products.

This plastic laminated SO2 generator also has the unique characteristic that, should the cold chain be broken for any reason (such as power fluctuations or a need to open cartons of table grapes in transit for purposes of inspection), the Sulphur Dioxide emission - and thus the protection of the table grapes - will be restored and continued.

In other types of sheets, especially those with the older paper/plastic/granular sodium metabisulphite combinations, all remaining SO2 is flushed off immediately when the cold chain is broken - rendering the sheet useless and having to be disposed of and replaced at great cost (often a hidden cost) to the owner/seller of the table grapes.

UVASYS is the sulphur dioxide generating sheet prescribed or preferred by more prominent British supermarket groups and European vendors than any other.

It is also the sheet used by more producers and packers of table grapes than any other sheet in the world.

• The Uvasys sheet does not emit large bursts of gas.

• There is a consistent low level emission of Sulphur Dioxide gas.

• Residual levels of sulphite are always low:  <10ppm.

• The Uvasys sheet does not expend itself if there is a break in the cold chain.

• Uvasys is a Dual Release sheet and can protect your grapes over an extended period - up to 4 months.

• If stored correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations, Uvasys sheets can remain active for longer than 2 years. We do however recommend re-evaluation of the sheet before using, after storage periods longer than 2 years from manufacturing date.
